2022 DEAUVILLE CLASSIC AUCTION: a hot evening!

The second edition of this auction combined with the CSI 3* Longines Deauville Classic

For the second edition of this auction combined with the CSI 3* Longines Deauville Classic, the Fences partners had gathered 13 breeding lots, foals and embryos, and 13 performers from 5 to 8 years old.

The clearly stated ambition was to make progress compared to the «pilot» edition of 2021 and the least we can say is that the objective has been achieved: more than one million six hundred thousand euros in sales and 20 of the 26 lots that have actually changed owners, that’s almost twice as good as last year.

The 450 guests invited by the Fences Agency and the numerous public who stayed until the end witnessed a well-organized show and some very nice bidding battles. The Top Price of the foals goes to the splendid MY STAR D’ALTENBACH, a daughter of Chacco Blue from the beautiful line of Usha van’t Roosakker, who raised the counters to 43 000€.

On the performers’ side, the €200,000 cap was exceeded twice: for PURSA VAN DEN DAEL, the impressive 7-year-old winner at the CIR de Cluny, who became the property of the Haras de Lerchenberg for €230,000, and for the spectacular and very promising 5-year-old CLOE NEWCASTLE Z, which was sold for €210,000 to a consortium of four renowned riders: Laurent Guillet, Emmanuel Portet, Philippe Leoni and Nicolas Delmotte, who will be her rider.

In a first assessment, the organizers did not hide their satisfaction at the end of this very hot evening in many respects. The success of the event augurs well for a 2023 edition that will be even denser with high quality subjects and perfectly prepares the Elite 3-Year-Old Auctions that will start in two weeks in Bois-le-Roi, France with 19 foals and 110 exceptional three-year-olds.
