Also online the stallions of the KWPN Select Sale are sold at good prices. There was plenty of foreign interest in the selected stallions, but the Dutch also made their move. Two appointed stallions were sold for more than 100.000 euro.

The auction topper of tonight was Romanov Blue Hors' son Olympus VDT. A tough bidding duel between several Dutch bidders raised the price considerably. The counter finally stopped at 140.000 euro, making Olympus VDT, like his half brother My Toto VDT, the most expensive dressage horse sold in the KWPN Select Sale. For 42.000 euro Olravo (by Just Wimphof) was sold, he is also purchased by a Dutch bidder.

120.000 euros

Among the show jumpers, the scoop was for Olano (by Manchester van 't Paradijs). It was several years ago that a show jumper in the KWPN Select Sale crossed the 100.000 euro mark. A Ukrainian investor eventually won the bidding duel and bought the stallion Olano, whose dam is the 1.50m mare Zwinulana ridden by Werner Muff, for 120.000 euro.

Successful auction evening

The average price of the dressage stallions tonight was 41.500 euros. The jumping stallions were sold for an average of 29.500 euro. Besides Ukraine and the Netherlands, there were also buyers from Germany, America, England, Bulgaria and Italy. "It was a successful auction evening," Rianka Hazeleger says. "That the KWPN Select Sale this time took place entirely online on our well-known auction platform did not seem to matter for the result. The whole day there were many visitors on the website and also during the auction the interest from both the Netherlands and abroad was great. The fact that we sold two horses above the 100.000 euro limit is a very nice result and shows that also online good prices are achieved for the KWPN Select Sale."

Breeding mares

The KWPN Select Sale has ended and the next auction is already on it's way. It has become almost a tradition that immediately after the KWPN Select Sale an online auction for pregnant broodmares and embryos is organized. This collection is now online, the bidding starts Friday and the auction closes Monday evening, February 14.
