Last night Trigon Auctions have closed their 1st foal collection of the season by selling 10 of the 11foals presented. Top-seller of the night was Smirnoff Ice, a colt by Cumano out of the full sister of the Olympic mare Derly Chin de Muze, who is also the dam of Aachen Grand Prix winner Killer Queen. A battle between 2 German bidders and a Dutch client ended in a move for the colt to Germany.

With the Comme Il Faut-colt Sinclair bought by Guatemala for €17.000 and the Casall-colt Stallone heading to Romania at €15.000 the proven stallions were well-appreciated by the bidders and clients.

But traditionally Trigon Auctions, organized by VDL Stud, Stal Tops and Frederik De Backer, also give the opportunity to offspring of younger stallion out of strong damlines to shine on the market.

The offspring of the 1st crop of Chatinue, (who is the brother of Balou du Reventon) sold well, just like those of For Treasure. In the end 6 foals will travel abroad to their new owners.

The next auction is scheduled to end on 6 July, as always ending on Wednesday evening at 20.00h.
