(Elmshorn) Last weekend, the riding horses on offer at the Holsteiner spring auction sale on 25 March performed brilliantly in their first public presentation. As of now, they can be tried out at any time, upon previous arrangement. And then it won’t take long until the auction hammer comes down again in the Fritz-Thiedemann indoor arena – following a very interesting programme inviting visitors to join the event.

The day of the auction on 25 March 2023 opens with the last presentation of the 33 lots on offer. Afterwards prospective buyers are given a final opportunity to get to know and try out their favourites under saddle. At 3:30pm, the society for the promotion of Holsteiner breeding and sport has prepared a talk on digital result information supported by Hippomundo, dealing with the portals where you can find your horses and their results and complete missing data, if necessary. An entertaining show programme is scheduled from 5:15pm, featuring a vaulting freestyle with brilliant acrobatics on horseback, fast-paced mounted games and musician Vio Leen. DJ Vio Leen plays the electric violin and is known for his exceptional shows fusing house music with the sound of the electric violin. During the show programme a limited amount of VIP seats can be booked by visitors in order to enjoy a flying dinner with several courses.

Great bloodline and sport horse ability
Auctioneer Hendrik Schulze-Rückamp takes to his desk at 6:30pm to open the hybrid auction sale. The horses in the auction collection hold particular value, not only in terms of bloodlines but also as sport horses: for example the Quibery-Lancer II daughter, Itsy Bitsy (lot no 118), is already successfully shown at international 1.25m level. Her second dam’s produce includes sport horses which have been ranked up to 1.60m level, like for example Lancero (Vladimir Tuganov/PLE)). Lot no 115, Massimo, is by Million Dollar out of a Cormint dam. The third dam of this gelding whose own achievements include placings up to international 1.30m level, is no other than Rasmus Lüneburg’s (GER) 1.55m level show jumper, Leica by Alcatraz, a mare placed in the Hamburg Jumping Derby. Canturado SR by Canturano I-Acorado (lot no 103) has won up to 1.20m level. He is directly related to Com es ta by Comme il faut, shown at 1.50m level by Markus Renzel (GER). With her first jumps under saddle lot no 111, Marlene by Don-Calido I, presents herself a true gem for breeding and sport purposes: the mare from well-known stem 104A comes from a mare family with a succession of international top jumpers including Cassini Miraflores by Cassini II (Luis Fernando Larrazabal/VEN) or Lord Up by Lordanos (Audrey Schulze/USA).

For everybody in attendance, the evening closes with an after-show-party from 10.00pm – entry is free. Information on the horses, including their own and their relatives’ performance, as well as photos and videos are available for online viewing on www.holsteiner.auction. Felix Flinzer (phone: 0162-3493942) is happy to answer all questions about the auction and the horses themselves. Please contact Jessica Hatje (jhatje@holsteiner-verband.de) to reserve tickets for the VIP area.
