On Tuesday evening May 10th, the 44th edition of the Sport Horse Auction in Dronten took place in the atmospheric ambience of Paardencentrum Dronten.
The atmosphere was immediately good on the crowded tribunes by a musical opening of singer Danilo Wattez.
The auction was opened with a cover of Higway M TN offered by Team Nijhof, this raised €1900, - for the charity foundation KIKA!
Afterwards the nice collection of horses was auctioned by auctioneer Johan Wilmink. The whole auction could be followed via ClipMyHorse and there was a lot of bidding from the audience as well as on the internet.
Absolute auction topper for a record amount of € 65.000,- was the stallion 'Maestro S', a fantastic jumping descendant of Emerald van 't Ruytershof x Ginus. He will leave for Switzerland.
Other winners were 'Brannon' (Brantzau VDL x Ikoon), who was sold to the USA for €39,000 and 'Santo Bello Proosthof' (Ulahop Boy x Chopin v.h. Moleneind). This one was sold for €32.000,-. The mare that attracted the most attention was 'Noa Cerise-Linn'(Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Verdi TN), she was sold for €28.000,-!
The most expensive 3-year old horse was the beautiful mare 'Oasis Royal' (Casago x Ahorn), she changed hands for €23.000,-.
In the weeks prior to the auction there was the possibility to try the show jumpers at the Bakker-Frederiks Stables, where the ridden horses were in training. A lot of use was made of this opportunity and it is clear that nice to ride, talented horses are in great demand. With an average of almost €20.000,- Veiling Dronten looks back on a very successful auction!
Also the foreign customers could appreciate the quality of the horses, there are horses going to different parts of the USA, Poland, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates.
With a beautiful collection of sporthorses, great atmosphere, enthusiastic bidders and very nice prices, Veiling Dronten can speak of a fantastic 44th edition!
